@ Tulla Sunday October14th @ 3.30pm

Half time score : Éire Óg 2-0 F/K 2-06

Full time score: Éire Óg 4-02 F/K 4-07

Feakle/Killanena & Eire Og faced off in the u13C final on Sunday afternoon in Tulla. Played in summer like conditions, both sets of young players gave an excellent display of skills in what was their first competitive championship final. Feakle/Killanena had the stronger first half with the Éire Óg girls slow to settle into the match. A tally of 2-06 was punctuated with a goal each from Elise Ryan & Ella Cahill for the townies leaving the East Clare side with a six point advantage at the break.

Within minutes of the restart, the tables had turned, as a determined Éire Óg side fought to bring the prize home. A fine point on the run from captain, Ella Cahill, ignited the resurgence. A well struck free from the same player found its way to the Feakle/Killanena net, leaving just two points between the sides. A point blank save from Éire Óg goalie, Niamh McManus, saw the ball worked up through the lines for Ella Cahill to complete a hat trick of goals, outing the Ennis outfit ahead by the minimum. Feakle/Killanena never gave up and a tally of 1-01 saw them reclaim their lead. A converted Éire Óg free reduced the deficit to two points, resulting in a frantic battle for possession, Feakle Killanena trying to hold onto their lead, while Éire Óg fought hard to score a vital goal. It was to be Feakle Killanenas day, however, as in an amazing piece of skill, a ball that appeared to be drifting wide was somehow kept in play and sent across the square and struck to the back of the Éire Óg net. Time ran out and it was Feakle Killanenas captain, Sinead McMahon, that accepted the U13C Cup on behalf of her teammates.
