Underage Development update:

Under 13/14s: This group of girls had their final internal blitz in Shannon astro turf today, Feb 27th, from 11am -2pm . They also had an inter regional blitz in Clooney on the 12th February. This brings an end to their development programme over the last four months where almost 130 girls got fabulous training in all t aspects of camogie from some very experienced, enthusiastic and encouraging coaches in three different regions. These sessions took place on Saturdays/ Sundays in Mid Clare, East Clare and West Clare. A huge thanks has to go to these coaches for the commitment they have afforded the girls. They will now take a break and go back to their clubs in preparation for their upcoming championship and will be notified in due course as regards the u14 development process/structure

U15 squad: The girls and management have been working hard every Saturday morning in Clarecastle for the last 3 months or so . They had an A and B challenge against the u16 squads a few weeks ago and also played a similar A and B challenge against Tipperary squads last Thursday in UL campus in difficult weather conditions .
It’s back to the training ground again for the next few weeks before the next round of games for these girls

U16 squad: As with the other squads these 40 plus girls are putting in a lot of work on and off the field in Newmarket and Shannon under another dedicated management group. They had an A and B challenge against two Kilkenny squads last Saturday in Johnstown and are hoping to play a similar challenge against Offaly in Birr next weekend in preparation for their opening Munster championship game against Tipperary on March 19th with time and venues to be confirmed closer to match day.

In total, we have over 200 girls enjoying and improving their camogie and life skills aided by dedicated coaches and volunteers. From observing all squads and talking to the various managements, the girls are all giving an honest effort and commitment in return
Finally, none of these 220 girls could participate without the help and support of their parents and guardians who transport them to the various venues at all hours of the day.
Finally, an u17 development squad started up on Saturday 26th February with their first session in Shannon astro at 9am with 19 girls in attendance. More girls are due into this group and have a challenge match against Limerick next weekend and blitz days in Clare at the end of March followed by a blitz day in Mallow at the end of April. We will have more details of this group as things become clearer in the coming weeks.

That completes our development round up and we will share another update in a few weeks.
Thank you.
