Div 3 League playoff

Broadford 2-11 Tulla 3-7

Tulla missed out on a place in the Division 3 league final when they went down to Broadford by a single point in a highly entertaining game played in Dr. Daly park last wednesday evening.

This was a tightly contested match right from the start. Scores were at a premium and it took eight minutes before we had a flag.

It was the home team who struck first when Sherena McGrath, after soloing at least 30m  crossed for Laoise Culloo to finish to the net. She then added a point two minutes later. Broadford got more into the game and scored a brace of points before Aoife Conlin got on the end of a good ball from Aoife Floyd and again raise a green flag. Sinead Conlon added a point from a free before Broadford added a goal and a point to leave the half time score Tulla 2 -2 Broadford 1-3.

In the second half Broadford seemef to moves up a couple of gears and toik some fine long range points to move them ahead. Tulla came back and got a third goal from Aisling Dooley and added a couple of more points but couldn't withstand the pressure from Broadford who finished the stronger and ran out winners on a score of Broadford 2-11 Tulla 3-7.

Tulla will rue some wayward shooting, especially in the first half, but experience will help their younger players to settle in to adult competition and gain confidence from games like this.

Tulla: Valerie Hogan; Aine Dinan, Chloe Crowe, Aine O'Callaghan; Sinead Conlon, Therese Murphy; Kaylee Cahill, Sorcha Costelloe; Lisa Meehan, Sherena McGrath; Aoife Floyd, Aoife Conlon, Laoise Culloo.
