Minor C Shield Final

Ruan/Corofin 3-7 Cratloe 1-8

Ruan/Corofin played Cratloe in the U18C Shield Final last evening Friday 7th September in Parteen.

In a very exciting and tense game Ruan/Corofin emerged victorious by 3-7 to 1-8. Cratloe scored the first point before Eve O’Connor responded with a pointed free. With the play quite even, Cratloe got a goal to take a stranglehold of the game. Ruan/Corofin had much of the possession but were unlucky with the final execution. At half time the score was Ruan/Corofin 0-4 to 1-3 for Cratloe with a point from play by Amy O’Donoghue and three points from frees from Eve O’Connor. 
Ruan/Corofin came out in the second half in a very determined manner and gradually got on top in the match. Goals followed from Lisa Whelan, Sarah O’Donoghue and Amy O’Donoghue with points from Eve O’Connor, Caoimhe Corbett, Amy O’Donoghue and Orla Burke whilst at the other end the Cratloe attacks were repelled by great defence from all the players with hooks, blocks and great heart by all and Emer Kenny made some outstanding saves in goal. Ruan/Corofin held out from a strong Cratloe onslaught and after four minutes of injury time the final whistle blew to great celebrations.
