Saturday evening saw both teams battle hard from the start with 2 wides and 2 saves a piece in the first 5 minutes of this final but it was Inagh-Kilnamona who took the lead with a point from play in the 8th minute followed by a goal 3 minutes later. Sixmilebridge's Ceire McNamara was the first to put up a score for the bridge after collecting Molly Purcells free and driving it into the back of the net. Sixmilebridge kept pressure on the IK back's with Emily Reddan and Kate Monoghan scoring a point a piece from play leaving a half time score of SMB 1-2 to IK 1-1.
The second half got off to an interesting start with IK scoring a point, followed by a point from the bridge and then another from IK to level it for the last time in the 8th minute. Sixmilebridge pulled ahead 2 minutes later with a point from McNamara after IK had worked tirelessly to keep the bridge out.Another goal by McNamara and Marley Seago-O'Sullivan widened the lead for the bridge but Inagh-Kilnamona worked tirlessly to get more scores but were denied by a great save by Sixmilebridge Roisin Scanlon, Inagh-Kilnamona quickly followed this up by a point but it was points from the bridges McNamara and Reddan which completed the scoring for the bridge leaving them the U15A Shield Winners of 2023 with a final score of SMB 3-6 to IK 1-4. Sixmilebridge U15A were 1st time recipients of the new memorial shield in memory of the Late Jimmy Kenny, which was presented to the team Cpt. Orla Cahill who led her team from start to finish.
