Clare take on Tipperary in the Munster Minor A semi final this evening @ 7pm. Venue is the Tipperary Camogie Grounds at the Ragg.
A strong Clare performance gave them a deserved victory in the preliminary round v Limerick. Played last week at Fr McNamara Park, this Eleanor Walsh led side, held a 3-05 to 7 point lead at the break. The green flags came courtesy of Aoibhín McNamara, Maeve Millea and Aisling Moloney.
The Banner girls had a dream start to the second half, netting 1-01 early on. After 20 minutes of play, Clare held a 9 point lead on a scoreline of 5-07 to 0-13. The Shannonsiders applied huge pressure to the Clare defence and came away with a tally of 2-02 in the last ten minutes. Two further points from Clares Caoimhe Cahill held them at bay, leaving the final score at 5-09 to 2-15.
Best of luck to players and management in this evenings semi final.
