Littlewoods Ireland Camogie Leagues Division 1, Group 1

Tipperary v Offaly, The Ragg, 2.00pm (F. McNamara, Clare)

Tipperary will have been buoyed by their overall performance on the opening day despite losing agonisingly to Wexford by just a single-point courtesy of a last-minute winning goal. The fact that they let a 7-point lead slip away from them however will leave them with a key area to improve on this weekend. This is Offaly’s opening match of their campaign having had a bye in Round 1. Having failed to progress beyond the group stages of both the League and All-Ireland Championship in 2017 they will be keen to get off to a good start this weekend.

Wexford v Cork, St. Patrick’s Park, Enniscorthy, 2.00pm (L. Dempsey, Kilkenny)

Wexford were made to battle hard to secure an opening day win against Tipperary on the opening weekend, with Linda Bolger’s late goal snatching a one-point victory for them with virtually the last puck of the game. Cork meanwhile got off to the perfect start with a comprehensive 7-point win over a strong Galway side as Orla Cotter did the bulk of the damage with a 7-point haul of her own.

Clare v Waterford, CWIT Carriganore, Co. Waterford, 4.30pm (R. Kelly, Kildare)

Clare will hope to bounce back from a heavy opening day defeat, albeit at the hands of the reigning League champions Kilkenny. They take on a Déise side that will be buoyed by their opening day victory over Meath as both sides aim to set themselves up for a push to secure a place in the knockout stages of the League. Clare’s Chloe Morey and Waterford’s Beth Carton will be the ones to watch in attack having both lead the scoring charts for their counties on the opening weekend.

Meath v Limerick, Meath GAA Centre of Excellence, Dunganny, 2.00pm (O. Elliot, Antrim)

Meath will be disappointed with the nature of their 9-point defeat to Waterford on the opening weekend and will hope to put on a better performance at home this weekend. Limerick will have a skip in their step having clawed a draw out of a seemingly lost cause against Dublin having trailed by 8-points at half-time, in no small thanks to stalwart Niamh Mulcahy who scores 1-7 of their total.
