Junior A Championship
Wolfe Tones 1-4 Tulla 3-22
Tulla had a comprehensive win over a very game Wolfe Tones in this Junior A Championship clash played in Shannon Camogie on Wednesday last on a scoreline of 3-22 to 1-4. The visitors will have been very pleased especially as their scores came from six different players and also that they took some very good points from play. In fairness to Wolfe Tones the final score does not reflect their hard work during the game but they found it very hard to break down the winner’s defence. Wolfe Tones were very well served by Susan Williams in goal, who on a number of occasions denied the Tulla girls what looked like certain majors and cannot be faulted for the goals conceded. Tulla were that bit sharper around the field and once they got into their stride were always going to emerge winners. They will have been pleased with the contribution of their younger players, with Aisling Dooley and Orna Mulconroy both getting on the scoresheet. Bridin Dinan, Sinead Conlon and Sherena McGrath all contributed handsomely to the final result but special mention has to go to Aisling Hunt for her tally of 3-1.
