Kilmacud 7 aside competition.

Feakle Killanena have taken the honours in the  annual Kiilmacud Crokes All Ireland 7 aside competition in an all Clare final.

Feakle Killanena topped their group with wins over Gailtir (Waterford) 5-10 to 2-2, Kilmacud Crokes (Dublin) 6-12 to -16 and Ballymacnab (Armagh ) 5-10 to 2-2.

Raheny (Dublin) provided the opposition for the quarter final but again a solid performance from the girls saw them secure a place in the semi-final on a score line 4-6 to 2-1.

Ballycran (Down) provided the opposition for the semi-final. This was a tough evenly matched contest with Feakle Killanena snatching victory with an injury time point. Feakle/Killanena 2-6

Ballycran 2-5.

Whitegate also topped their group with wins over St. Olafs (Dublin) 7-7 to 2-2, Leixlip (Kildare) 9-9 to 0-2 and Ballyholland (Down) 6-8 to 0-2

Geraldines from Down were Whitegates 1/4 final opposition. The Clare side came out on top of a tight contest by 2-5 to 2-3

Whitegate took on Cloughbawn from Wexford in their semi final, coming away with a 4 point win 4-7 to 4-3 to set up an all Clare final.

As both teams had already played each other in the Intermediate Championship and with many of the girls in school together the atmosphere was set for an exciting contest. Feakle Killanenas overall skill and movement of the ball proved the difference winning out on a score line of 4-8 to 1-5.

Feakle Killanena: Shauna Canny, Eileen Daly Aoife Tuohy, Ella Mac Namara, Laura McGrath, Ellie Edge O Neill, Regan Conway, Evelyn Duggan, Roisin McMahon and Robyn Conway.

Feakle Killanena also had a second team in the Junior division, winning 2 out of their 3 matches.

The third Clare club to travel was Éire Óg, also with two teams. Their senior team won two out of three matches and were unlucky to be knocked out by Whitegates 1/4 final opposition, Geraldines, on the head to head.

Éire Ógs junior B team also competed in the intermediate section of the competition and while they gave a good account of themselves, their opposing teams proved to be too strong.
