Scariff Ogonnelloe 5-8 Kilmaley 2-4
The match got off to a cracking start with a goal in the first minute from Scarriff Ogonnelloe's Cliona McNamara. Eilis Cahill put Kilmaley's first score on the board with a point from a free on the midway mark, which was followed by another point from a free scored by Alva Rodgers for Scarriff Ogonnelloe. Another free gave Kilmaley their second point. Scarriff Ogonnelloe then clocked up a second goal after applying a lot of pressure on the Kilmaley goals and subsequently Maria Scanlan delivered their third goal in 26th minute. A goal from Kilmaley in the three minutes into injury time resulted in a half-time score of 3-1 to 1-2 in favour of Scarriff Ogonnelloe.
The intensity continued into the second half with a first minute point from Scarriff Ogonnelloe's Labhaoise O'Donnell quickly followed with another point from Cliona McNamara. Then Abby Walsh pushed Scarriff Ogonnelloe farther ahead with a fourth goal. Kilmaley went on to earn their first point in this half from a free. There was no let in play with both teams battling up and down the pitch in deteriorating weather conditions. There were further points from Scarriff Ogonnelloe's Labhaoise O'Donnell, Cliona McNamara and Alva Rodgers and fifth goal struck by Abby Walsh. Kilmaley pushed on with two more points and a goal from Eilis Cahill delivered in the 19th minute. At the final whistle, the score was Scarriff-Ogonnelloe 5-8, Kilmaley 2-4. The game ended not a minute too soon as shortly afterwards the heavens opened sending players, mentors and their supporters scurrying to their cars. It had been without doubt an intense, physically demanding game with each team giving 110% effort and demonstrating high levels of skill and determination.

U16B Quarter Finals
Ruan 6-8 Sixmilebridge 4-7
Ruan finished strongly to win the u16 B quarter final against Sixmilebridge on a score line of 6:8 to 4-7. Ruan took and held the lead from start to finish and deserved the win. However, the Bridge made them work for their victory. The home side started the scoring and held an early lead of 5 points before the visitors responded with scores of their own. After the deficit being reduced to the minimum the home side pushed on again before the break to lead by four points, 2-4 to 1-3 in an exciting free-flowing game. The second half continued in the same vein with both sides dominating for periods, as both sides reacted to positional changes. All the skills of the game were on show from both teams with fantastic defensive tackles, hooks and blocks, also some beautiful open play with runs and hand-passing, and all finished off with superb score taking throughout. As the end approached the Bridge got two goals to close the gap but the Ruan dug deep and closed out the match getting a point and goal to finish and secure the win.

Clarecastle/Ballyea 2-12 Clooney/Quin 0-4
In wet conditions Clarecastle/Ballyea and Clooney/Quin met in the first of the U16B Quarter Finals on Monday evening in Clarecastle. Clooney/Quin pointed the first score of the game from a placed ball which was cancelled out by Emma O’Donoghue. Both teams exchanged points in the opening ten minutes. The hosts continued to upped the game and exert pressure which resulted in an O’Donoghe goal. As the first half wore on Clarecastle/Ballyea continued to dominate with points from Laura Carmody, Dearbhile McMahon and O’Donoghue leaving the half time score 1-7 to 0-3. Clooney/Quin piled on the pressure but Clarecastle/Ballyea continued the lead in the second half with scores from Niamh Enright (0-1)(f), Emma O’Donoghe (1-1), Hannah Mai Neylon (0-1) and Aoibhin Donnelly (0-2). While Clooney/Quin fought to the end the winners held their opponents scoreless until the 26 minute through excellent defensive play from Ciara O’Dell, Caroline Enright and Molly McMahon to set up a semi-final against Ruan/Crusheen. Others to impress for the winners were Hannah Morrissey, Moya Sheehan and Hannah Mai Neylon.

The hosts had the upper hand in this encounter overall, but had to battle hard to keep back a Tulla offensive in the second half.
Cratloe got off to a good start with early goals from Megan O’Connor and Abbey Mason giving Cratloe a comfortable lead. Tulla responded with two points, before O’Connor scored a point from a 45 to bring the half time score to 2-1 to 0-2.
The second half saw a lot of good hurling, great blocks and passes between both teams. Good marking from both sides and pressure applied by Tulla resulted in Maria Healy making a number of saves, and clearing the ball. It was twenty minutes before the first score was noted, a goal from Megan O’Connor after a fluid passage of play with Cliona Murphy passing the ball to Emer Flanagan, who sent it up to Megan. A point followed soon after as Cratloe fought hard to seal their victory. Tulla attempted to reduce the deficit by sending two 45s in low hoping that they might find the net, but it was not to be. A final onslaught by Cratloe resulted in a goal, bringing the final score to 4-2 to 2 points.
