The climax of the U13A championship took place in Clarecastle between neighbours, Clooney Quin and Crusheen. Played in terrible weather conditions, credit must go to both teams for producing a top quality match. From the throw in both teams were intent on attacking. Crusheen made the early running. Their attack was broken up and a fine solo run from Emma Quinn saw her deliver to Ellen Collins, who finished to the net to give Clooney Quin the perfect start after two minutes. Crusheen continued to bring the game to Clooney Quin and created a number of chances. Good work from Faye Dean and Aoife Rodgers led to her goal ward shot being blocked for a forty five. Crusheen created a goal chance midway through the when Aoife Rodgers fed Mary Hanrahan whose shot was well saved by Emer Mc Gee. Further efforts from Siomha Perill and Sarah O Donnell went agonisingly wide for Crusheen. Crusheen were to rue the chances that went amiss.
