Truagh Clonlara 1-6 Inagh Kilnamona 3-6
In what turned out to be a relatively dry day in Clonlara the 2019 Division 1 League threw in for Inagh Kilnamona and Truagh Clonlara.
Inagh Kilnamona got off to the better start with 2 early points from Aoife Keane. Clare Commane added another before Aine O’Loughlin got the opening score for the home side in the eleventh minute. In cold conditions, it was the visitors who dominated proceedings in the opening half, with Aoibhinn Ryan converting a free for the next score. Commane following good support work, grabbed the games first goal with Ryan following up with a point to leave the half time score in favour of the visitors, Inagh Kilnamona 1-5 Truagh Clonlara 0-1.
Truagh Clonlara tore into the second half with the impressive Eimear Kelly getting the first score of the half in the first minute followed by a converted free with just three minutes played, only for Aoife Keane to cancel theis addition to the home sides tally when she grabbed the visitors second goal. However, a fight back from Truagh Clonlara followed with a Roisin Begley goal bookended by a brace of Kelly points to narrow the deficit to four points. Inagh Kilnamona responded well, Aoibhin Ryan converting a free, and the visitors third goal coming from the boot of Teresa O’Keeffe to effectively put this game out of reach of the home side. There was one last attack for tRuagh Clonalara with Kelly pointing but it was the reigning League champions who came away with the victory, Inagh Kilnamona 3-6 Truagh Clonlara 1-6.
Michelle Mescall, Clare Hehir and Aoife Keane impressed for Inagh Kilnamona whilst Eimear Kelly was very impressive for Truagh Clonlara.

St Josephs 1-3 Scariff Ogonnelloe 1-6
The first round of the Div 1 League between Scariff Ogonnelloe and St.Josephs was played in St. Josephs at 12 noon on St.Patricks day. In tough windy conditions this game proved to be a hard-fought battle for both sides. St. Josephs had the wind in the first half and opened the scoring with a point however great work rate from the Scariff Ogonnelloe backs led to a two points up front, one from a free from Mairead Scanlon. The tough weather conditions kept scoring low with only two more points coming in the opening half one for each of the sides. This left the half time score at 3 points to 2 in favour of Scariff Ogonnelloe. With the wind at their backs in the second half Scariff Ogonnelloe pushed on opening the half with a well needed goal. St. Josephs battled hard and within 10 minutes raised a green flag of their own putting only a point between the sides again. Scariff Ogonnelloe added three more points from Mairead Scanlon, Lynda Daly and Aisling Corbett to finish their tally of 1-6. Meanwhile St. Josephs added a point to their goal leaving them with 1-3.

Clooney Quin 2-9 Feakle/Killanena 2-9
Credit must go to both teams whom battling against the elements produced a highly entertaining and evenly matched tie. The original fixture was due to be played in Clooney but changed to Feakle on Sunday morning.
Playing with the aid of a strong breeze Feakle/Killanena opened their account with two points from Regan Conway. Robyn Conway kept the score board ticking over with two more from play. With play turning to the other end Shauna Canny held strong between the posts to repeatedly deny Clooney Quin a green flag but their perseverance was rewarded when they opened their account with a point in the 23rd minute from the stick of Deirdre Murphy. Feakle/Killanena responded with a Claire McNamara point directly from the puck out. Both sides exchanged points before Clooney Quin levelled matters when they raised their first green flag of the day, Murphy sending her shot to the back of the. A point from Regan Conway saw Feakle/Killanena take a one point lead to the break, Feakle/Killanena 0-7 Clooney Quin 1-3.
Laura McGrath attacked the opposition straight from the throw in and the ensuing free was converted by Regan Conway. McGrath herself was on target soon after and a well taken goal from Robyn Conway put 4 between the sides. Clooney Quin hit back immediately with a goal of their own, Sarah Costelloe striking to the back of the net. But this was quickly cancelled out when Robyn Conway was again on target. Feakle/Killanena was forced to defend strongly for the remainder of the game. Four unanswered points from Clooney Quin through Mairead Ryan, Ciara Grogan and Aoibheann Duggan saw this first round of the Division 2 League end in a draw.

Whitegate 1-4 Kilkishen/Bodyke 1-14
Whitegate’s opening match of the Division 2 League was played on a cold and showery St Patrick’s day in Whitegate against neighbouring club Kilkishen/Bodyke. Despite the wintery conditions the match got off to a flying start. Kilkishen/Bodyke were the first to put their names on the scoreboard with the opening point coming from Caoimhe Kelly following an array of scores from Niamh O’Gorman, Siobhan Lenihan, Kate Lynch and a further point from Kelly. Despite being outplayed for the opening quarter of the game Susan Fahy split the posts in the 29th minute of the game to put Whitegae on the score sheet. Kilkishen/Bodyke pushed on with 2 more points from Aoife Ryan and a further point from Alannah Ryan. Whitegate added a further point to their tally just before half time with a great point from play from Greta Hickey to leave the half time score Kilkishen/Bodyke 0-9 Whitegate 0-2.
The second half started with great determination from Whitegate and the first score of the second half coming from a converted free by Susan Fahy. Kilkishen/Bodyke answered back with a point from Caoimhe Kelly. Soon after Aideen Hickey passed a lovely ball to Amber Nolan who then delivered the ball from a long range and managed to find the back of the Kilkishen/Bodyke net, to leave just three points between the sides. However Whitegate failed to build on this and Kilkishen/Bodyke scored a further three points before Aoife Ryan found the back of the Whitegate net. The finishing score came from a converted free from Susan Fahy, but at this stage the battle was well over and Kilkishen/Bodyke emerged the clear winners on the day.

Whitegate 1-1 Tulla 4-15
Following on from Whitegate’s opening match in the Intermediate League, Whitegate Camogie were delighted to field a second team for the first time in the history of the club today when their juniors took on Tulla in the Division 4 Junior league. While it was not their day it was a most enjoyable game and the final score did not reflect the determination and skill shown throughout the game. Whitegate’s first score of a point came from play from Leana Spazzi. Later on in the game Aideen Hickey added her name to the scoresheet when she found the back of the Tulla net. The final score was Whitegate 1-1 and Tulla 4-15. Goalkeeper Lisa Donnellan made some fantastic saves throughout the game including a penalty which denied Tulla from adding further goals to their final tally.

Parteen 6-9 Eire Og 0-3
Parteen had a comprehensive victory over visitors, Éire Óg on St Patricks morning at Seanchoill all-weather pitch. Two early goals from the hosts set the tone for the match and Parteen continued to dominate throughout.
Éire Óg, with just twelve players available on the day, put in a good effort, but, were unable to break through a strong Parteen defence. Éire Ógs tally of three points came from Orla McMahon who scored twice in the first half from play while a second half Leanne Russell effort that seemed to be heading for the net, skimmed over the bar.
Parteen finished up with a deserved 6-9 to 0-3 victory.
